Real Ale

OK Let's face it. I was weaned on beer! As a Man of Kent I was brought up on a hop farm so didn't really stand much chance, did I?

Before going any further I should warn you that if you like LAGER then you won't appreciate what I have to say about BEER.

As to my favourite tipple, this depends upon a number of things:

• The Weather
• The time of Year
• Where I happen to be at the time
• Who's round it is!
• etc.

Basically, I am not really interested in anything with an ABV of less than 4.5%. I am also rather fond of beers with meaningful names, such as:

• Tanglefoot
• Headbanger
• Old Horizontal
• and, of course, Old Fart

My son is at University and is a leading light in his Real Ale Society, so maybe Mendel was right after all!
